JOHANNESBURG – The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has confirmed that two extra South African troopers have died within the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
It is understood that one solider was shot and killed by a fellow SANDF member on Thursday, who then turned his service weapon on himself.
“All members of the households have been knowledgeable of the unlucky incident and the members’ stays will probably be repatriated in South African in the end,” stated SANDF spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini.
He added that Defence Minister Thandi Modise and her ministry’s prime brass have conveyed their condolences to the households.
The circumstances that led to the assault are but to be established.

Each troopers had been deployed to the DRC as a part of a bunch despatched to spice up a peace mission because the nation fights insurgent teams.
The SANDF has arrange a board of inquiry to work with the United Nations Group Stabilization Mission within the DRC to probe the assault.
Earlier this month, two SANDF members were killed, and three others wounded in a mortar strike within the jap metropolis of Goma.
