Command Sgt. Maj. Craig A. Roland (proper), command sergeant main, one hundred and twenty fifth Finance Battalion, eighth Navy Police Brigade, eighth Theater Sustainment Command, receives the colours from Grasp Sgt. Lorena Sermeno, commander of troops, throughout his relinquishment of accountability ceremony on Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, March 28, 2024. The relinquishment of accountability is a time-honored custom according to a change of accountability, which is symbolized by the passing of the battalion colours – or command accountability – to the incoming command sergeant main. Within the case of a relinquishment of accountability, the incoming command sergeant main has but to reach, so accountability is entrusted to essentially the most senior noncommissioned officer within the formation within the interim.
